Corruption in India - How Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi save their Chairs

  Is Manmohan Singh Honest?

The UPA Government’s track record on upholding probity in public life is disgraceful. Having condoned blatantly unconstitutional and unapologetically criminal actions by actors from Lalu Yadav to Buta Singh and Shibu Soren, the Manmohan Singh Sonia Gandhi dispensation has lost all credibility on this front. The Teflon coating that the Prime Minister has wrapped himself around in is in danger of slipping away as questions arise on if the motive of the murder was knowledge of the bribery, where is the accountability for the bribery ?

............... The outrage is not just that Manmohan Singh’s Cabinet had an alleged murder occuppying an office of power but also that the alleged murder was to silence Shashi Nath Jha, private secretary of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren because he was aware of an alleged deal between the Congress party and JMM to save the then PV Narasimha Rao Government in which Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister.

In 1993, Rs.1,62,80,000 was deposited in deposited in various accounts in the names of the four JMM MPs and their family members and also in a joint account of the MPs. Mahato claimed that the MPs were offered the bribe so that they would vote against the no-confidence motion

So in 2008, Manmoham Singh and Sonia Gandhi knew about murder and bribery cases of Shibu Soren; Soren's secretary was murdered because of his knowledge of the above bribery

November 28th, 2006. A feeling of elation, mixed with fear, descended upon the Jha family on Tuesday when a Delhi court convicted Union coal minister Shibu Soren. From hiding in forests of Giridih and Hazaribagh during his campaign against moneylenders to occupying the coveted chair of Union coal minister twice Shibu Soren is the first minister in India’s history to be declared guilty of murder while holding office. The main Opposition BJP on Tuesday renewed its assault on the government over “criminalisation” of the Cabinet and demanded that all the “tainted” ministers be asked to go. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday lost no time in securing the resignation of Coal Minister Shibu Soren after a court convicted him.

The outrage is not just that Manmohan Singh’s Cabinet had a alleged murder occuppying an office of power but that the alleged murder was to silence Shashi Nath Jha, private secretary of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren because he was aware of an alleged deal between the Congress party and JMM to save the then PV Narasimha Rao Government in which Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister.
This time Manmohan Singh and Sonia Ganshi bribed him with post of Chief Minister to save their chairs in misgoverning India. They are as bad as the BJP or any other political party.

Most of the communities in India (such as Bengali), are succumbed in 'Culture of Poverty'(a theory introduced by an American anthropologist Oscar Lewis), irrespective of class or economic strata, lives in pavement or apartment. Nobody is at all ashamed of the deep-rooted corruption, decaying general quality of life, worst Politico-administrative system, weak mother language, continuous absorption of common space (mental as well as physical, both). We are becoming fathers & mothers only by self-procreation, mindlessly & blindfold. Simply depriving their(the children) fundamental rights of a decent, caring society, fearless & dignified living. Do not ever look for any other positive alternative behaviour (values) to perform human way of parenthood, i.e. deliberately co-parenting of those children those are born out of ignorance, real poverty. All of us are being driven only by the very animal instinct. If the Bengali people ever be able to bring that genuine freedom (from vicious cycle of 'poverty') in their own life/attitude, involve themselves in 'Production of Space’(Henri Lefebvre), at least initiate a movement by heart, decent & dedicated Politics will definitely come up. - Siddhartha Bandyopadhyay, 16/4, Girish Banerjee Lane, Howrah-711101, India.
